All Saints Childwall
102 Childwall Abbey Road, Childwall, Liverpool, Merseyside, L16 0JW
We look forward to welcoming you to All Saints in 2024. The Church has associations with the Earl of Salisbury's family and the Norris family of Speke Hall.
All Saints contains a number of Hatchments and memorials around the Church as well as a a board which confirms the church's loyalty to King Charles 2nd after the Restoration following the Civil War.
The Church has been much changed down the years as it has evolved to take into account the needs of the community.
The Organ gallery at the back of the Church is all that remains of Galleries that which also went down the South, West and North Aisle.
The Organ itself was made by Wills and Son and was donated by the Gladstone family.
The Tower was rebuilt in 1811 and stands 47 feet from the ground, the Steeple rises a further 47 feet. The views from the Tower are breathtaking. The Tower also contains a Ring of 6 bells and the Church Clock which was purchased from Thomas Green of Liverpool.
Heritage Weekend is one of the few times in the year that the Tower is open to the public.
The opening of the Tower is weather dependant.
The Churchyard contains the grave of the first Bishop of Liverpool John Charles (J.C. )Ryle and Commonwealth War Graves as well as the graves of many notable Liverpool families.
The War Memorial was restored in 2023 and re-sited in Church from its previous position in the Church Porch.
