ALL HALLOWS' CHURCH, KIRKBURTON
3a Shelley Lane, Kirkburton, HUDDERSFIELD, West Yorkshire, HD8 0SJ
All Hallows' Churchyards, awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award, are maintained by a team of volunteers. Our War and Commonwealth Graves attract international attention. Kirkburton was the first Church to go 'live' nationally with the Burial Ground Management System.
Can you trace an ancestor? Our Adopt-a-Grave Team is bringing neglected and forgotten graves back to life, and their Leaders will be available to give advice and to sign up new members. This year will be a Celebration of our Heritage through Art. This Project celebrates All Hallows' rich local history through Textiles and Art. Bring a chair, sketchbook and drawing mediums of your choice to capture the beauty and artistry of selected gravestones.
The Bellringers will offer Tower Tours. Burton Environment Group will talk about their current projects and Kirkburton History Group will lead local walks throughout the day. Further information can be found under separate entries in this brochure.
An Organ recital will take place between 2pm and 4pm. Local art work will be on show as part of the Celebration of Art.
LIGHT REFRESHMENTS WILL BE SERVED THROUGHOUT THE DAY.
