Come and celebrate the Girlguiding Norfolk's ARC's Museum Accreditation award by finding out all about the amazing history of guiding. Join in with practical activities to learn more about being a Rainbow, Brownie, Guide or Ranger over the years.

Come with us on a journey through 11 decades of Girlguiding history to find out how the idea of a “game with a purpose” developed into the UK’s largest youth organisation dedicated completely to girls. The Girlguiding Norfolk Archive Resource Centre (ARC) at Coltishall, Norfolk, will host a time travelling weekend on a railway theme, with a timetable packed with things to see and do. Stations to visit will include a 1940s camp kitchen, where you can try your hand at Blitz cooking, a fashion show of guiding uniforms through the decades, an exhibition showing the Royal Family’s role in the Movement and, of course, a buffet car serving delicious tea , scones and a celebratory cake. There will also be a chance to take the Tenderfoot Test, which Guides had to complete before being enrolled in 1910, games, quizzes and a unique mosaic trail around the grounds. And there always has to be a campfire and singing as part of guiding; can you remember your favourite songs?
