Adur Connected
36 High Street, Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, BN43 5DA
Adur has a rich history of connectivity due to the natural landscape of the area encompassing a river, an airport and a port which has been operational since Roman times. Taking inspiration from the railways this exhibition follows the routes of the iron track across Adur and tells the stories of how the railway was used, for the transportation of goods, pleasure seekers and the adventurous. Take your mobile phone and scan the QR codes on each exhibition panel to hear and see local memories of "The Steyning Stinker", drama when the bus fell off the old toll bridge and how to solve a housing problem.
Adur Connected is part of a 10-day heritage festival, provided by the Shoreham Society, Friends of Old Shoreham, Wordfest and Marlpins Museum.
