Quaker Meeting House, garden and burial ground which date from the 19th century. The house will feature an exhibition about its history and the early history of Quakerism.

A 19th century building with an extension added around 2009. Visitors can enter the meeting room set out for weekly Meetings for Worship and view an exhibition describing the history of the house and giving an insight into Quakerism in the locality as well as a brief account of the early history of, and prominent people within, the Quaker movement. The burial ground features rows of resting places denoted by the traditional uniform Quaker headstones, including two graves of the War Graves Commission and the resting places of Quakers who were prominent in Leeds life. There is also a garden at the rear of the house in which visitors are free to wander. There is ample parking space on sight and one parking bay for blue-badge holders. Attached to the meeting house is a caretaker's cottage which, however, is not open to the public since it is privately occupied.

Directions:
Adel Friends Meeting House is located on New Adel Lane which can be accessed from the A660 Leeds - Otley Road immediately north of Lawnswood cemetery. The Meeting House is then approximately a quarter-of-a-mile on, to the right of a left-bend. The front of the adjoining cottage and a Quaker notice board with HODs bunting are visible on approach.

Accessibility details

Full wheelchair access to the meeting house. The burial ground is rough grassland and is surrounded on three sides by a rough track, the fourth side being the vehicular drive. There is just a single disabled parking bay.
