Ackworth School

Originally a Thomas Coram foundling hospital, the site was purchased by the Society of Friends in the 1770s for the establishment of a school. The buildings are extensive and impressive. Visitors will have access to the exterior and to the library for the Q&A session.
The school was founded in 1779 by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) to educate boys and girls.

There are a limited number of steps in and out of the buildings.
Car parking for visitors is available, then meet at the main entrance corridor 5 minutes before start time. Bus stops are located immediately outside the school, on the main road.
