Grade 1 listed building. Jacobean almshouse, still in use for its original purpose.

Founded in 1619 by George Abbot, Archbishop of Canterbury and a translator of the King James bible.
There are currently 27 residents.
Short guided tours of 17th Century courtyard, chapel and Common Hall.

This is a 17th century building with steps and irregular floors. We have a ramp forwheelchair and pushchair access. The almshouse is home to our residents, and visitors are asked kindly to respect this.
