A Walk on Valley Drive

Valley Drive was built in the mid-1890s and overlooks Harrogate's lovely Valley Gardens. This walk looks at the origins and history of this elegant street and provides details of residents and visitors to this famous spa town through time. The walk begins close to the entrance to the Gardens and the Pump Room Museum, along the Drive to the recently restored King Edward VII gates into the Gardens.

There is wheelchair access but it should be noted that the walk does begin with an incline before levelling off. Public toilets (including Accessible facilities) are available in Valley Gardens and Crescent Gardens. The walk is 10 minutes from the bus and rail stations. On-street disc parking is available, time-limited to between 1 and 3 hours. There are public car parks in the town centre. Refreshments are available within Valley Gardens and on Cold Bath Road both less than 1/4 mile walk. Dogs should be on a fixed short lead, well behaved and not trouble other participants
