A Route Through Evington
Church Road, Evington, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE5 6FA
Some highlights of the tour are:
* The experienced, volunteer tour guide, Chris Hossack, who is a local historian.
* A Norman built Church dating back to the 12th Century that is also very beautiful.
* The best medieval moated site in Leicestershire called Piggy's Hollow.
* Evington Chapel which is very peaceful and uses an organ that used to belong to Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's husband.
* A Park that was previously a private estate and has a variety of mature trees.
* A Picnic with Tea or coffee and biscuits under the Mulberry Tree in Evington Park.

We do not recommend wheelchair uses to visit Piggy's Hollow, the moated site. Instead wheelchair users can stay longer in St. Denys Church and join the rest of the route once the visit to Piggy's Hollow, which is next to St. Denys Church is over. With this arrangement the tour does have full wheelchair access.
This is a guided route. Both tours take place on 12th September. The first tour runs from 1100 to 1300 and the second tour runs from 1400 to 1600.
