The chapel in Newark Cemetery will be open with members of the Friends of Newark Cemetery on hand to help locate graves. There will also be a display in the Chapel entitled 'A Lasting Legacy'.

The Friends of Newark Cemetery are proud to be able to help promote Newark’s beautiful and historical Cemetery, which truly is a haven of peace & tranquillity in the heart of our Town. Friends of Newark Cemetery volunteers will be on hand to help you locate a specific grave within the Cemetery. All records will be on hand going back to 1856. You can find the final resting place for family members, loved ones, friends, or local celebrities. This includes graves or cremations in the Garden of Remembrance. As well as undertaking grave searches, FoNC members will be happy to answer questions about the cemetery, its history, and some notable residents who are laid to rest there. Meanwhile, a special display in the Chapel called “A Lasting Legacy” will show how some of them, by their creativity, helped to shape the Newark that we know today.
