Join us for a heritage walk around Orford Park and its environs to discover more about the history of this important town centre green space. Learn about the prehistoric Orford axe and the true story of John Blackburne's ghostly pineapple!

Join us on this walk lasting around an hour to find out more about the history of Orford Park - from its prehistoric origins to the 17th century Orford Hall home of the influential Blackburne family and all the way through to the creation of Orford Park and Orford Jubilee Hub.

The former home of the Blackburne family, the 17th century mansion known as Orford Hall was for many years the home of Warrington's first mayor, William Beamont. The house and its surrounding grounds were donated to Warrington Council in December 1916 and although the hall itself was demolished in 1935, the grounds remain as Orford Park.
