500 years of Science in Print

Whipple Library, Free School Lane, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, CB2 3RQ

  • Multiple dates available
  • In person

The Whipple Library is the University of Cambridge's specialist library for the History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine.

As well as being an active research library, the collection includes an astonishing scientific rare book collection which showcases the development of scientific thought from the 1400s to the present day.

This session is an informal talk and provides a chance to get up close and personal with some of the most remarkable books in the collection; works by Darwin, Galileo, Newton and more, and (possibly) the smallest scientific book ever.
