4000 Years of Chesham History with 400 Years of the Weedon Alms Houses Walk
Clocktower, Market Square, Chesham, Buckinghamshire, HP5 1HG
Local history expert, Tony Eustace, will be guiding visitors around parts of old Chesham, covering 4000 years of the town's history. Starting in Market Square by the clocktower, the walk will take in some of the town centre's historic yards, the sites of Chesham's first school and Townfield Chapel, Meades Water Gardens, which was once the location of the Amy Mill pond and Mineral Cottage, the short-lived home of a fledgling mineral water spa. On the walk, visitors will stop off at Weedon Alms Houses to learn more about their history in their 400th year.
