Docks Unwrapped - Creativity at the Port of Grimsby (2023)

The Port of Grimsby event is a chance to take a closer look at the renovation of the buildings in this historic port, learn more about the architecture and uses. Doors will be open to go inside some of the locations and be inspired by the creativity of the renewables industry, which has made its home in the port.
There will also be chance to listen to music, visit a historic smokehouse and learn how to braid nets under the watchful eye of Phyllis. There will also be refreshments on site.
Guided Walking Tours (90 mins): 1000, 1100, 1300, 1400, 1430 – places limited to 20 per tour and must be booked in advance
Smokehouse Tours (1 hr): 1000, 1200 and 1400 – as above, limited to 20 per tour and must be booked in advance

Uneven surfaces around site. All old buildings have stairs and no lifts restricting access. Security fencing in places restricting access.
Visitors can walk around the site or book onto a guided tour. There are also drop-in talks about the history of the site, and guided smokehouse tours. Other buildings are open giving people a chance to see inside and look at the work being done to bring these old buildings back into use. There's a children's i-spy trail and a digital trail for adults. Event in partnership with North East Lincolnshire Council, Historic England and the tenants.
