A Grade I listed Georgian church familiarly known as Sowerby St Peter's. The principle features have remained unchanged from the time of its construction in 1766. The plasterwork in the church has been quoted as being 'unmatchable elsewhere in the county' and more recently as 'one of the most elegant...in the North of England', yet this handsome building is little known outside its parish. The interior church scene in Gentleman Jack episode two was filmed at St Peter's.
