Stockport Garrick Theatre Online Open Day - A Theatre in Lockdown (2020)

Stockport Garrick Theatre Ltd, Exchange Street, Greater Manchester, SK3 0EJ

  • Available anytime
  • Pre-booking not required

A back-stage VIRTUAL guided tour of Stockport Garrick, a theatre in Lockdown. Audience members usually only see the public rooms and the auditorium, so this is an opportunity to look behind the scenes. Plus YouTube performances.

Have you ever wondered what work goes on backstage to present a play? Why not take the opportunity to find out and take a virtual tour of the Garrick. Stockport Garrick was established in 1901 and has occupied it's current premises since 1920. It is part of an old mill building on the A6, near to The Hat Museum, and as such it is a veritable rabbit warren. Currently we are under Lockdown conditions, so you will see how this has affected our theatre spaces.

There are also YouTube performances of Stockport Voices, a verbatim piece from stories told by local residents, and readings of Shakespeare's Sonnets. Pictures of sets are available to download for zoom meetings. Just click the HOD link on our website what's on page, https://www.stockportgarrick.co.uk/whats-on
