Royal Northern College of Music, Greater Manchester,

  • Available anytime
  • Pre-booking not required

A short video welcoming you to the history of the Royal Manchester College of Music, 1893-1972.

The Royal Manchester College of Music was founded on the idea that local musical talent should have the opportunity to train locally, perform locally and benefit the local areas. Before the RMCM, many students had to travel up to Scotland's conservatoire or try their luck at one of the London ones. This short video shares the story of how this idea came about from Sir Charles Hallé, what it became, and how it ended.

The video will remain online so please feel free to share with whoever you think may be interested.

We hope to welcome you back to the RNCM soon. Until then, thanks for your interest and stay safe.
