A Grade II Victorian Gothic Revival Style listed building, designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, completed in 1856. Eminent Victorian artist A.O Hemmings, designed the reredos, murals & roof paintings and the 3 stained glass windows in the Sanctuary.

Due to the current pandemic, St James' Church New Brighton is only open for Sunday worship at 10am throughout September.
However, those with an interest in church architecture may take the Virtual Tour of St James in the comfort of their own homes. In addition to the aforementioned architectural highlights, St James boasts a magnificent Bewsher & Fleetwood organ built in 1833, enlarged by Hele in 1902 and restored by Harrison & Harrison in 1999. The organ was transferred from St John's Church in Liscard to St James' in 2006 with the inaugural recital given by Professor Ian Tracey in 2007.
