From Medieval to Modern: A Virtual, Historical Tour of Churches in Keighley & Ingrow (2020)

Keighley Shared Church, West Yorkshire,

  • Available anytime
  • Pre-booking not required

An audio-visual tour of artefacts and architecture showing the evolving story of the Anglican church in Keighley and Ingrow from medieval times to the current day.

The first known site for Christian worship in Keighley goes back to the 12th century. The records for St Andrew's Church began in 1562, though the current building was constructed in the mid 19th century. This film includes some of the ancient stone and wooden pieces to be found in the church and through them shows the development of new worship centres in the area, over time. Taking history and place as its starting point, this film explores recent initiatives to re-focus the use of some of the churches to better serve the people of Keighley for the present and the future.
