The Church of St Peter Mancroft, Hay Hill, Norfolk, NR2 1QE
St Peter Mancroft is the Civic Parish Church, as well as the largest church set in the heart of the fine city of Norwich.
Its bells are of great importance in the world history of bellringing. Because in 1715, in this tower, 5040 changes of Plain Bob Triples were rung for the first time.
The present church building was built between 1430 and 1455, and it's tower contains fourteen bells which were cast in Whitechapel, London. Eleven of these date from 1775 and the most recent from 1997.
During this fascinating talk, you will learn more about its unique historic past, as well as learning about its current history with the introduction of The Mancroft Discovery Ringing Centre. This simulator is one only three in the world.
