This fine example of a Victorian London Bus was built in 1897, the year of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. Built by the London General Omnibus Company Limited it ran in central London. However, after service in London ended it was eventually sold to Mr Swift who ran the Three Tuns in Dorking High Street and finally Daniel Fairbrother who owned the Windmill Pub in Flint Hill, Dorking. Details of the timetable will be available on www.drewitts-events.com. There will be opportunities to see the bus and talk to Tony Drewitt about the remarkable story of its discovery in a field in Mole Valley and its restoration. The horse bus will begin its journey at Rusper on Friday 13th September and complete its route via Newdigate, Leigh, Betchworth, Dorking and Mickleham, before ending it tour in Leatherhead on Sunday 16th September. Full details of stopping points where the bus can be found at www.drewitts-events.com.
