Extraordinary Women at the time of the Great War (2018)
The Auditorium, The Forum, Millennium Plain, Norfolk, NR2 1TF
At the beginning of the 20th century a wide variety of women made their mark on society, changing the way in which women could live their lives and altering how men thought about the ‘weaker sex’.
This talk will include women who served in WW1 and put their lives at risk near the battlefield, both in Belgium and Serbia and a fashion designer who went to America and used her skills to fund raise for the war effort.
The women are a personal choice and a rather unusual mixture of individuals who have come to light in recent research into Women in WW1.
Talk presented by Joy Evitt.
