'A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words' - the LCHS Trail (1) (2018)
Lincoln Christ's Hospital School, Wragby Road, Lincolnshire, LN2 4PN
Visitors will be guided to ten pictures depicting 125 years of education in Lincoln followed by lectures exploring the 4th Northern General Hospital and on-going research into Ahmed Rafique, a pupil in 1911.
You will almost certainly be aware that Lincoln Christ's Hospital School can trace its history back nearly a thousand years and that when the Normans came to Lincoln they built a castle to demonstrate their power and enhance their security, a cathedral to ensure that worshipping the Christian God had a supreme position in their new settlement, and a school to educate Anglo-Saxon boys. The modern school, founded in 1974, can trace its origins to 1090.
