1906 Cleveleys Cottage Exhibition Walk
Corner of Cleveleys Avenue and West Drive, Cleveleys, Lancashire, FY5 2BJ
In 1904, a local landowner and architect, decided to build a couple of houses that were designed to show the advances in building methods, appliances and technology.
This inspired him to create an exhibition with over forty such “Cottages” and a building competition that would then also benefit the competing builders, as well as showing that houses could be light and airy, as well as having gardens and open space.
All the properties still exist and the tour will use original publicity materials to contrast and compare how it has changed.
