St Mary's Church in Yapton will have a display on the history of the church and village. Features of the church will be explained as well as interesting local names. A churchyard tour will demonstrate the commitment to eco friendly management.

The display in the church will show information on the history of the site and the surrounding village. The transcribed burial records will be available to view as well as genealogical advice. St Mary's Church Yapton was completed in the 12th century and has later additions and modifications. The village had five manors and farming was the main occupation until the 19th century. The Portsmouth to Arundel canal was opened in 1823 which completed the route from London. An engineering works was established in 1856 which made agricultural machinery. The churchyard burial records start in 1538 and many early memorial stones from 18th century still exist. The area surrounding the church is managed by volunteers who are sensitive to the biodiversity and demonstrate effective techniques.
