Visitors can enjoy the massive scale and sheer beauty of this magnificent church. Its green copper dome has dominated the Wirral skyline ever since it was built in 1935. The church interior is a haven of peace and tranquillity.

This Grade II listed iconic building stands as a testament to the faith of its founder, Father Thomas Mullins, and to the faith of the local Catholic community.
It is known locally as The Dome of Home because its massive dome was the first welcome landmark for sailors returning home to the port of Liverpool during the Second World War.
The full restoration of the church was completed in 2022 and visitors can now enjoy the peace and beauty of its lovely interior.

The centre piece of the whole church is the High Altar, where the Mass is offered. It features monolithic Corinthian columns with a golden sunburst above. In 2015 the Institute of Christ the King installed a beautiful statue of The Infant of Prague in the niche above the High Altar, this lovely statue of the Child Jesus holds a globe in his left hand as a symbol of His Divinity and wears a royal crown as ruler of the world.

The baptistry and the side altars are also very beautiful and reflect the history of this lovely building.
Guided Tours of the church will be available for visitors.

There will also be a range of craft based activities available for children.
Hot and cold drinks, cakes and biscuits will be served free of charge
We hope that you will enjoy your visit.
