Step into Dragon Hall, one of Norwich’s most significant medieval buildings and home to the National Centre for Writing! Pick up a trail map and explore this historic site, take part in family-friendly crafts, or simply stop by to read in the garden.

Entrance is free – no booking required, just drop in!

Find inspiration and get creative! There’s plenty of inspiration to be found in our unique building. Try your hand at family-friendly crafts, enjoy one of our creative trails for adults and children or relax and soak up the creative atmosphere.

Relax and unwind. Join us for nature trails in our garden, poem-writing, or light reading in the Gallery and Great Hall. The garden is also the perfect spot for you to bring your lunch, sit with a book, or bathe in the sunshine.

Dragon Hall is home to the National Centre for Writing and Norwich UNESCO City of Literature.

Located on historic King Street, Dragon Hall is a short walk from Norwich City Centre and just over the river from the Riverside Retail Park. Our nearest car parks are Rose Lane and Rouen Road.

Accessibility details

Dragon Hall is a listed building and the vast majority of the building is fully accessible via our lifts. A small number of spaces cannot be accessed in a wheelchair or scooter. Please do get in touch if you want to discuss parking or have access needs.

Additional information

**Please note that on the afternoon of Tuesday the 10th and the morning of Wednesday 11th September there will be limited access to the Great Hall. The other areas of the building such as the Gallery, Garden and Wolfson rooms will be open as usual.
