Step back in time at St George's Wootton
St George the Martyr Church, Church Hill, Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, NN4 6LQ
St George's Church dates back to c.1250. Taking inspiration from medieval features of the Church and working in partnership with Wootton Heritage Organisation, this all-age event will include:
-a children's trail, featuring the Church's resident squirrel
-a pictorial and written guide to the Church aimed at adults
-dressing-up for children and adults in medieval peasant costumes
-an opportunity to sample the medieval staple of potage on bread
-plainsong singing by the resident monk
-sculpting clay faces based upon stone carvings and portraits in Church
The Church will be open 10am-3pm and visitors are welcome to drop-in anytime.

There is limited parking around the Church. Visitors may use the parish council car park at Wootton Community Centre, which is a short walk from the Church. Wheelchair users should enter the Church from High Street, where access to the churchyard is flat.
This event coincides with Ride & Stride, run by the Churches Conservation Trust.
