  • Multiple dates available
  • In person
  • Pre-booking not required

Come and see the beautiful church of St Marys Grassendale. We will give a guided tour and tell you of links to Queen Victoria, a famous Admiral, war heroes, wealthy merchants of Liverpool and the finest example of a laminated timber roof in Britain.

A beautiful Gothic church built in 1852 and consecrated in 1854, we have just celebrated our 170th birthday! You can wander by yourself and explore our gardens and then come for a personal and friendly guided tour. This will take you from the wealthy merchants of Liverpool, 2nd city of the Empire and tell you the story of our founding fathers. There are connections to Queen Victorias wedding cake, a famous Admiral, war heroes and a truly wonderful example of a laminated timber roof, possibly the finest example in Britain. We also have one of the last remaining set of Irish bells too...

Come and meet us, spend time with us and enjoy a chat and a brew... we look forward to seeing you!
