St John's Church has beautiful stained glass windows & and historic font. The Memorial Chapel shows the names of the locals killed during the 2 World Wars. The organ was built in 1883 by J W Walker & Sons of London, one of the finest of all Victorian organ builders. It was dedicated on St. James's Day, 25th July, 1883. It is of considerable historic interest.
Caterham School will provide some musical entertainment - instrumentalists and singers - on Saturday betweem 1.30pm and 3pm
There will be an Organ Recital at 2pm on Sunday celebrating the anniversaries of Jeremiah Clarke, Puccini, Faure, Stanford and Bairstow
Open Tower on Sunday afternoon at 3.15pm
Town Trail of Caterham Valley with a twist !
East Surrey Museum and The Bourne Society will have displays relating to the theme
Help to create an artwork based on the theme showing the various Connections and Routes that can be taken from Caterham. Suitable for the whole family.

Directions:
The church is on the corner of Godstone Road and Clareville Road. Parking available in Morrisons' Car Park (3 hours) which is accessed from Harestone Valley Road. Park on top floor and exit via the door at the end where you can see the church tower (no clock). This comes out opposite the Church Hall which is opposite the main entrance to the church. The main entrance is up 12 steps from the pavement. A more accessible entrance is via the South door (opposite the main entrance) - follow the path to the right of the tower and the door is the first on the left with just one step in or up the ramps.

Accessibility details

There is one Disabled Parking Bay outside the church. Wheelchairs, prams/buggies and disabled can enter via the South door with one step or portable ramps. Access is fine in the Nave, but there are steps up to the Chancel. There is a toilet for the disabled in the Ladies in the hall, but for wheelchair users, they must enter via the back door and have someone with them to open the internal doors. The nearest public disabled toilet is at the entrance to Morrisons' car park from Harestone Valley Road. The Tower is accessed via a narrow stone spiral staircase with rope handrail on outer wall.
