St Augustine's Church

Woodborough Road, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, NG3 4QF

  • Multiple dates available
  • In person
  • Pre-booking not required

This Hidden Gem in Nottingham is an architecturally interesting Romanesque church designed by John Sydney Brocklesby with vibrant stained glass windows and unique Nottingham Alabaster Altar. Treasure trail quiz for children, free refreshments.

We are open Friday and Saturday 13th/14th September 10 am until 4 pm. St Augustine's Church was built in 1879 and its stained glass windows show The Annunciation & Nativity, St Winifred, St Helena, Our Lady and St Joseph plus many more. The Lady Chapel depicts the apparition at Lourdes. Walk through the door and gasp in amazement at the interior of this church .... quite unexpected and almost monastic in appearance, it belies the exterior and location, and is a true jewel in the crown of church architecture in Nottingham City. Displays relating to the history and architecture, and artefacts tell the story of this living faith community. Grade II listed.
