Selly Manor Museum: part of Bournville Heritage Open Day
Selly Manor Museum, Maple Road, Bournville, Birmingham, West Midlands, B30 2AE
Rescued from demolition by chocolate manufacturer George Cadbury, these two ancient buildings were moved and rebuilt in the garden village of Bournville in the early 20th century. Home to the Laurence Cadbury Collection of early furniture the museum is brought to life with games to play, armour to try on and amazing Tudor dressing up. Plus take part in our family trail.
We will be joined by Regal Roses re-enactment group and visitors will have the chance to meet Henry VIII and his 6 Wives! This year for Heritage Open Day the museum will also be celebrating Bournville's heritage as we invite people to share their stories through objects in our 'Museum of Us' project.
This event is part of Bournville Heritage Open Day 2024 where over a dozen local historic sites will open their doors for free, with tours, activities, exhibitions and much more!
