Saddlescombe is a working farm on the South Downs and is only open to the public on special days like Heritage Open Day.

Enjoy guided tours of this ancient downland farm and discover the rich history of farming here. Take a tour of the Tudor wing of the Manor House and discover the Victorian walled garden.

Meet the flint knapper, take a ride on the pony and trap, see traditional crafts in action and shop at the craft market with local makers from Brighton Etsy.

Experience performances and songs with original work from Writing our Legacy and songs from the Brighton Folk Choir.

Bring a picnic or enjoy delicious food and drink from the Wildflower Café

Hear about how we’re restoring our rare chalk grassland habitats, discovering new archaeology and celebrating the cultural heritage of the South Downs through Changing Chalk, an ambitious landscape-scale partnership connecting nature, people and heritage on the South Downs.

Entry is free, but parking is a suggested donation of £3. Free parking for National Trust members.
