Drop in on Friday, 13th September, between 12pm-6pm, to walk our meditative labyrinth and explore our historic Unitarian chapel. Discover our sanctuary of calm in the centre of the city. Mill Hill Chapel, City Square, Leeds LS1 5EB

Mill Hill Chapel, a Grade II* listed place of worship with deep roots in the nonconformist tradition, was established in 1672 and has an active congregation to this day! Our chapel has long been a beacon of progressive religious thought, freedom, and tolerance. The Dissenting Gothic architecture, with its stunning stained-glass windows (including a William Morris Company window!) and serene interior, provides a perfect backdrop for contemplation and reflection.

As part of the Heritage Open Day, we invite you to experience the tranquility of our modern indoor labyrinth. Walking the labyrinth is a centuries-old practice, offering a unique opportunity for meditation and mindfulness. Whether you're seeking a moment of personal reflection or a peaceful escape from the busyness of daily life, our labyrinth provides a path to explore new perspectives.

Wander out and into the main chapel, around the historic sanctuary, and take in the architectural details and sacred space. As you explore, you'll encounter various historical exhibits and welcoming community volunteers that will shed light on our chapel’s rich history and its role in the community over the centuries.

People have been gathering at this site in the heart of Leeds for over 350 years. Often overshadowed by the nearby shopping centres and bus routes, Mill Hill Chapel has quietly persisted as a place of reflection and community amidst the city's hustle and bustle. Come and experience it for yourself.
