Norwich Printing Museum - Routes, Networks, Connections
Blickling Estate, Blickling, Norwich, Norfolk, NR11 6NG
Printing has shaped the world, spreading by diverse ROUTES from China in the seventh century through Asia, Africa and Europe to the Americas and the world. The Norwich Printing Museum reflects the European phase of that history, from the late middle ages to the present day. It was largely built up by Peter Jarrold via his NETWORK of friends and colleagues in the printing industry over forty years. The collections of the Museum, which is now an independent Trust with a working display on National Trust's Blickling Estate, demonstrate the CONNECTIONS between Norwich, it's people and culture, and the printers and industry of the nation, continent and beyond.
During the Heritage Open Days we will have a series of Student Residents working in the Museum, and visitors will be able to print a special keepsake for the day, under the guidance of the Museum's skilled volunteers, using traditional printing equipment.
