Newland Charcoal Iron Furnace

The site contains the remains of the Newland Charcoal Iron Furnace, an 18th century water-powered blast furnace used for around 150 years to produce Pig Iron. Visitors are welcome to look at displays showing the history of the furnace and its restoration. Information on related industries is also provided. Guided tours around the furnace remains and surrounding hamlet are provided throughout the day. Children supervised by parents or guardians are more than welcome.

Some of the site and tour route is available to wheelchair users. Parking is limited to about 6 vehicles. There is no room for coach parking.
