Meet the Ancestors at St Mary's, Bramall Lane

St Mary's, Bramall Lane, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S2 4QZ

  • 12 Sep 2024
  • In person
  • Pre-booking not required

Come along and learn about some of the Sheffield residents who were buried here in the grounds of St Mary’s during the 19th century.

Kate Faulkes will be speaking about her research into the four Sheffield Waterloo churches, built with money raised to give thanks. St Mary’s is one of those churches and is Grade II* listed, and the only remaining active place of worship.

Kate is looking at the period between 1830 and 1850, starting with recording the gravestones and tracing the names.

During the talk you will find out about their lives, their influence in the city and its development, and the importance of the women in our stories.

There will be light refreshments available.
