Visit Maldon & Heybridge Heritage Harbour, a national Heritage Harbour and climb aboard a Thames Barge, the Steam Tug Brent as well as enjoy a range of maritime based activities on the quayside especially for the Heritage Open Day 2024.

Maldon & Heybridge Heritage Harbour will have an information marquee promoting the activities on the Hythe Quay.

Directions:
There is no public parking at The Hythe. The nearest carparks are at High Street East Carpark (Edward Bright Close, Maldon CM9 5RU) or Promenade Park carpark (Park Dr, Maldon CM9 5JQ). Both carparks are RINGO run and cashless.

11.00 am - Maldon’s Barges - Past and Present Local historian Stephen Nunn will give an illustrated talk on the historic link between Maldon and the Thames Sailing Barge. This includes some of the surviving barges that can be seen on the Quay, sailing on the Blackwater and taking part in the annual Sailing Barge Match. 12.30 pm - Stephanie Valentine - Topsail Charter Meet some of our younger generation who are keeping the traditional skills of the barges alive. 2.00pm - Wind, Tide & Oar – Film A compelling film exploring engineless sailing
