Guildford House
155 High Street, Guildford, Surrey, GU13AJ
Friday 13 and Saturday 14 September, during open hours:
Curtis Holder: Portraits of Brotherhood.
This exhibition, from Guildford House Open winner Curtis Holder, features a selection of figurative drawings showing intimate portrayals of Black men. They’re rendered in vibrant coloured pencil on paper, offering a view of his subjects, exploring identity, masculinity, and emotion.
Come rest awhile (weather dependent).
The secluded courtyard at Guildford House is an oasis of calm amongst the hustle and bustle of the town centre. If the weather’s fine, our garden furniture will be out, so feel free to drop by and rest awhile enjoying the peace and quiet.
Guildford Mapped Out.
Come along to Guildford House to see maps of the town centre from the 1700s, 1800s and 1900s. See pictures of the streets, buildings, and objects found like ‘buried treasure’. Discover how much has changed, and what has stayed the same. Why not enjoy completing our family fun activity sheet too?
Drop-in, suitable for ages 6+.
Saturday 14 September 1000-1200: Finds identification session.
Drop in with an unidentified object you’ve found, maybe from metal detecting or whilst out walking. Our resident expert, Finds Liaison Officer Dr Simon Maslin, can take a look and help identify what it might be.
