The renovation and conversion of this historic building is well underway now. This is a special chance to see inside the building and view the work taking place to convert this historic building for use as homes. A very special opportunity!

This wonderful Grade II listed building, opened in 1904 with support from Andrew Carnegie, once housed Brierley Hill Library and Technical Institute.

The building has been closed for best part of a decade, but is due to have renovation work undertaken as part of the town’s Heritage Action Zone.

This will be a special opportunity to see inside one of Brierley Hill’s favourite buildings as it undergoes conversion for residential use under the careful eye of the borough's conservation officers.

Accessibility details

This building is not in use at the moment and so has no services (toilets etc) in use. It is a building of its time and, sadly, does not have wheel chair access.

Additional information

This is a truly wonderful building and we are hugely grateful to the owners and the staff of Dudley MBC for opening it up for public visits on Saturday 14th September. It is possibly the last time that this empty building will be viewable in its present condition as new uses are sought for it.
