Explore Wakefield's development through historic maps and travel 200 years back in time on our giant floor map. Celebrate 100 years of Wakefield Historical Society with talks, activities and a chance to get hands-on with archival maps.

Join us to celebrate Heritage Open Week and explore the theme of routes, networks and connections. We will be tracing Wakefield’s development through historic maps and celebrating 100 years of the Wakefield Historical Society. Staff at West Yorkshire History Centre and members of the Wakefield Historical Society will be offering free talks and opportunities to get hands-on with archival maps. Hop on our giant floor map and time travel back 200 years. Free family friendly craft activities will also be on offer.

Free event, no booking require, drop-in. All welcome.
