Drop in anytime 10.30 – 15.30 for refreshments and to see our new studios’ home in Brunel’s former Carriage Works and find out more about our work and the wonderful Sofa Screenings film offer - for those who love film or want to discover something new. The new programme launches in September!
We are also delighted to be hosting 2 special Swindon heritage films programmed with introductory talk from local filmmaker Martin Parry
11.00 -12.00 and 14.30-15.30
One of Martin’s iconic films about the former GWR railway works will be running alongside an extraordinary film in the British Film Institute film, Men on the Mend, featuring the ground-breaking health treatment for GWR workers.
In between the special screenings you can see Making My Mark; a series of short films about personal heritage made by young people who were mentored by Create Studios and English Heritage.
Stitch Your Story – a series of banners crafted by local communities commissioned to mark the opening of Create Studios will be available for viewing. Not to be missed and with accompanying films – enjoy a cup of tea alongside the exhibitions
