  • In person
  • Pre-booking not required

A chance to look around this beautiful Church, consecrated in 1704 and a place of Christian worship to this day.

Everyone is welcome to come and look around, whether this is your first visit, you have a connection with us but haven't visited for a long time or you are a regular visitor. The church is a good example of the Queen Anne style and the only one in Birmingham completed during her reign. It was probably designed by Sir William Wilson, or at least influenced by him. The transepts and chancel were seamlessly added in the 1860s to give the building its cruciform shape. Originally Job Marston’s Chapel, it became Hall Green Parish Church in 1907 and then the Church of the Ascension in 1954.
Friendly volunteers will be on hand to show you around and there will be a display of photographs and other materials of interest. There will be booklets about the history of the church available to buy at £3 each.
Refreshments (tea, coffee, squash, biscuits) will be provided free of charge.
