Wakefield Literature Festival is proud to be hosting an enriching afternoon of unique historical fiction at Pontefract Castle.
All inspired by places they know and love across the Wakefield District.
Whether you’re a history lover or you are looking for your new favourite writer, travel back in time with Wakefield Literature Festival at 2:15pm and 3:15pm on September 7th and get lost in a literary world created by their incredible team of wonderful wordsmiths!

The visitor centre is wheelchair accessible with level access from the main gates. There are two parking bays outside the castle gates (WF8 1QH) for blue badge holders. If these are full, please drop off passengers at the castle gates and park in the car park at WF8 2JF, a five minute walk away. There are also three train stations within a 20 minute walk of the castle.
