Canterbury Old Synagogue
The Old Synagogue, 33-34 King Street, Canterbury, Kent, CT1 2AJ
The Old Synagogue is a former Orthodox Jewish congregation and synagogue, located in Canterbury at 944 King’s Street. The former Synagogue building was opened in 1848 and is considered to be one of the best examples of a synagogue completed in the Egyptian Revival Style.
The Synagogue was actively used until c.1911, sold in 1937 and subsequently used as a church hall. Since 1982, it has been used and maintained by The King’s School for musical performances.
