Cameron Road Allotments
Cameron Road Allotments, Cameron Road, Chesham, Buckinghamshire, HP5 3BP
The Chesham Allotments Group (CAG) covers 256 allotments across two sites in Chesham: Cameron Road and Asheridge Road. The allotments are owned, maintained and managed by Chesham Town Council. Allotment tenants are represented to the Council by CAG, consisting of 13 allotment holders and one town councillor. CAG is a non-profit service organisation intended to provide both information and inspiration.
The Cameron Road allotments were founded in 1910 on the site of Taylor's Farm to meet the demand of the working people of Chesham for a location where they could grow their own food. The Cameron Road site will be open all afternoon for visitors to explore the diverse range of allotments and see just what's possible from a single plot. Seasoned allotment-holders will be on hand to offer practical advice and tips. There are marvellous views across Chesham to be enjoyed, and home-made cream teas will be available. The Group has organised a display of the history of the allotments and visitors will be free to wander.
There will be a photographic exhibition of the history of allotments in Chesham.
