Bridge Cottage Heritage Centre is a fifteenth century medieval Wealden Hall in the heart of Uckfield and is the head quarters of Uckfield Heritage. This special open day gives the chance to explore the building and see displays of local history.

Bridge Cottage Heritage Centre is open for various events and meetings but is not often available for you to look closely at the building and find out more about it.

Built in 1436 and restored around ten years ago with support from a Heritage Lottery grant and finance from Uckfield Town Councils, Bridge Cottage is one of the best-studied buildings of its type. A large Wealden Hall with high-quality timber work, in later years, it was divided up and became two cottages with tenants, but now it resembles the building as it was around 1600. This open day will include information and activities about the history of the house, together with maps, photographs, and information about the local area.
