Bethesda is a Grade II* listed chapel once known as the Cathedral of the Potteries.

Bethesda was founded by the local pottery owners in 1797. It was the first New Connexion Chapel so is of religious importance.
It is of architectural interest with what is thought to have the largest span outside London when it was built. It had some alterations in its early years as it was expanded twice. In its early days it had a bank and an 'infirmary'.

Opposite the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery. No parking available at the site. John Street Car Park is a 2 minute walk away. Please note Bethesda Street is Bus access only.

Wheelchairs and pushchairs downstairs only. There is a disabled parking space on the street outside the main entrance.

Additional information

Owned by the Historic Chapels Trust. A WW1 and WW2 Exhibition, small museum. The organ will be played at intervals.
