Beningbrough Hall, Gallery & Gardens
Beningbrough, York, North Yorkshire, YO30 1DD
Head outdoors to see what’s in season in the walled garden, stroll among luxurious borders and sit under the Pergola. As the autumn harvest is starting, there will be apples and pears in abundance from over 90 varieties of fruit grown. Late colour is provided by dahlias and asters, especially along the south border. Discover a new route through the grounds in the new Mediterranean Garden. Spot the first signs of trees taking on their golden tones as you explore and look out to the parkland beyond.
Spend time in the historic rooms on the ground floor of the house, where selected pieces of art and furniture represent the stories of the people of Beningbrough and their impact on the estate.
Treat yourself in the walled garden restaurant to the latest seasonal dishes with inspiration from the garden. Drop by the stables shop to see ranges inspired by National Trust places, and others from local creatives and artists.
Families can tick off activities on the must do play list - 50 things to do before you're 11 3/4: build a den or let off steam in the wilderness play area.
Please note that the hall is now open but the first floor art gallery will be closed as the autumn exhibition is being installed.
