'Bee-Roads'

Cathedral House, Unthank Road, Norwich, Norfolk, NR2 2PA

  • Multiple dates available
  • In person
  • Pre-booking not required

A fun trail designed for children - learn about the beehives at the Cathedral, and follow the 'Bee-Roads' as you discover the numerous saints who are connected with bees!

The Cathedral has its own collection of beehives, and its own team of bees! On this 'Bee-Roads' trail learn about the paths that our bees take to-and-from their hives to pollinate our flowers.

You will also about the life of the bee, and how their journeys can relate to our faith. Created by God, with a unique role in His Creation, bees are incredibly important for our ecosystem, biodiversity, and the world God created for us to live in.

Bees also appear repeatedly in Sacred Scripture, in one way or another. Several saints have strong associations with bees - from miracles performed, to nicknames, and to quotes associated with them!

How do these saints relate to the Cathedral, the Catholic Faith, the history of Catholicism, and our own lives? You will find out with our 'Bee-Roads' Discovery Trail. Children can follow the path of a bee around the garden, uncovering information sheets about the saints who are associated with bees. The goal is to find all the saints, and learn more about each of them!

Additionally, children will be able to walk around the garden, learning about the beautiful plants and flowers.

Collect the free trail guide from the Garden Café, all are welcome, and the event will be running throughout the week!
